Introducing the HP Designjet T920 and T1500

Introducing the HP Designjet T920 and T1500
HP Designjet t920 and T1500

The NEW HP Designjet T920 and T1500 914mm A0 / A1 plotter's boast a host of new innovative features in addition to going back to basics, HP has moved away from it's 44" print width platform that has been available for the last 10 years, instead the convenience of a smaller footprint through it's 36" A0 size Architecture is instead favoured. Four variants are available the HP Designjet T920 & HP Designjet T920 Postscript single roll variants along with the standard T1500 non- Postscript Dual roll device and again a T1500 postscript configured unit.

The HP Designjet T1500 for UK customers is supplied with a two year warranty keeping your lifetime cost even lower than before, with 3 year, 4 year or 5 year warranty upgrades being at a reduced cost, ensuring longevity of your investment.

The Postscript T920 and T1500 variants are not only aimed at MAC platforms for users whom perhaps use CAD applications such as Vectorworks but also Autodesk users on PC platforms the advantage of being able to send multiple PDF's without opening is time saving and more productive, definitely a worthwhile step up when it comes to quality and productivity.

The six colour HP 727 ink system features a Grey ink in addition to both a Matte Black or Photo Black providing an unrivalled cost per print where monochrome output is required along with superior quality colour output ideal for both colour infills for Architectural drawings as well as Full colour high-end CAD renders. HP have also thought about cost to users and have introduced a choice of ink sizes from a low capacity 40ml ink which can be used for colours which are infrequently used along with a better value per ML 130ml ink or in the case of the much used Matte Black a High Capacity 300ml unit.

Additional new features over alternative products include HP revisiting front media loading, with the media spindles being located at the front of the device genuinely allowing users to swap rolls in seconds without fuss. Printed media has also been carefully considered and for the first time HP have introduced a Top Delivery Tray featured in both the T920 (also available from plot-IT) and this model the Dual-Roll HP Designjet T1500. The top stacker unit provides additional convenience especially doe dual roll users whom may have different media types loaded such as HP Photo Gloss or varying media roll widths.

Users can chose to have their wide-format technical prints delivered to the top of the machine resulting in useful job stacking, however, if an administrator wishes to interrupt and print a quick plot they can chose to deliver the drawing to a standard media basket at the bottom of the machine. The flat surface and lower height of the T1500 results in users being able to pull their drawings out and review them on the top of the machine which doubles as a useful tabletop, if additional prints are then required then theses can be requested from the large LCD Display as a "Job Reprint" rather than the user having to return to their workstation.

Software enhancements have also been introduced with an included but optional automated ink re-ordering system where the machine if desired can email plot-IT with technical issues along with a low ink status report, allowing the user to request an ink re-order without having to pick the phone up, this feature is not compulsory and can be disabled if desired but it is designed to ensure maximum uptime with service calls being logged at the plot-IT service centre, meaning we can allocate an engineer before you know you have to.

Borderless printing, a new innovation from HP with borderless printing now available when used with HP Photo-Media's such as wideformat gloss or Satin, reducing the need to trim and the cost of a gulliotine.

Ease of use for users in wheel chairs, the lower legs, front media loading and optional bottom tray delivery makes the T920 and T1500 more accesible to wheel chair users, or for users whom have the machine by their desk and wish to remain in their chair. the front control panle which can be flipped is easilly accesible and usable as are ink chambers for supply changes.
