Neschen Solvoprint Glass Deco Dusted 80micThis 80mic polymeric soft-PVC film has a translucent, milk glass white effect that is easy to apply and a great choice for creative window decorations.  Suitable for use with Eco-solvent, Latex and UVC inks this product has an environmentally friendly, permanent water-based adhesive.

The Solvoprint® Glass Deco PVC films are all “dry-apply”, eliminating the need to use application liquids thus saving time. Using innovative air-matrix technology, fine air channels are created in the adhesive, allowing for fast application and adjustment. Bubbles and creases in the film can easily be avoided.

FEATURES:

  • 80 µm Polymeric Soft-PVC
  • Translucent and milky white
  • Effect like milk glass
  • B1 Certificate according DIN 4102-1
  • Washable and resistant to a large number of detergents and solvents
  • Easy to apply due to micro-channels in adhesive
  • Reduced adhesive strength minimizes risk of “stress whitening”
  • Printable with (eco)-solvent-, latex- and UV-curable inks
  • Recommended for indoor applications (e.g. on shop windows the media should be applied at the interior side of the glass) – outdoor applications feasable based on Neschen technical informations
  • Environmentally friendly, permanent water-based adhesive
  • 3" core, printside outside

APPLICATIONS:

  • Decoration & Labelling film
  • Suitable for cutting plotters
  • Milk glass effect
  • Printable

PROCESSING & HANDLING:

  • Dry application only.  The prevents any accumulation of water within the channels which could cause white colouring of the adhesive
  • Use cotton gloves to avoid fingerprints on the media
  • When applied to windows it is recommended to leave a 2mm gap between film and rubber gasket to avoid any accumulation of water and possible reduction of adhesive strength
  • To prevent stripes in the adhesive film the liner should be removed evenly
  • When cutting filigree/small letters it is recommended to use a sharp knife and adjust speed
  • Usage of PVC application tape with moderate adhesive strength (e.g 2N/25mm) is endorsed
  • Due to the increased UV radiation when printing with UV-Curable inks, life of the PVC film may be reduced.
  • To avoid any unwelcome scratches on the surface of the film it is recommended to use a very soft squeegee.  These scratches will remain in the film when applied on glass and will not disappear.
  • After plotting the films should be stored & dispatched laying flat
  • Possible adhesive residues can be easily removed using denatured alcohol or benzene

Tips and tricks for processing and handling:

  • Bonding These films are for dry application only. Care should be taken to ensure that also after application no water can accumulate on the cutting edges and/or in the air channels. Any accumulation of water leads to whitening of the adhesive. Furthermore we recommend the use of a very soft squeegee (e.g. microfiber) and cotton gloves in order to avoid any unwelcome scratches and/or finger prints on the surface of the films. These would remain when applied (on glass) and will not disappear after application. Because of the low adhesive force at the start of application it is possible to correct the film positioning easily if required. Furthermore this reduced adhesive strength minimizes the risk of “stress whitening”.
  • Special structure of the adhesive Depending on humidity and temperature the visibility of the adhesive- structure can be reduced significantly. Only within striking distance it is still visible.
  • Bonding windows When applied on windows, we recommend application with a 2mm gap between the films and the rubber gasket. Thus avoids any accumulation of water and a possibility of reduction of the adhesive strength. 1801 Application Note solvoprint glass deco Page 1 of 2 Copyright Neschen Coating GmbH, 2018
  • Cut Plotting When cutting small/ filigree letters we recommend use of a sharp knife and slow cutting speed. The minimum size of letters/motives must be tested and defined individually at your device and we recommend qualifying this also by transferring the film.
  • Applying Use of a PVC application tape with moderate adhesive strength (e.g.2 N/25mm) is recommended. The tape can be removed immediately after bonding. This offers an enormous time saving in comparison to wet-application. To prevent stripes in the adhesive film the liner should be removed evenly.
  • Printing In case of inkjet printing with UV- curable inks, the increased UV radiation could reduce the life of the vinyl- film. We recommend your own in-house testing.
  • Application after being printed Depending on the type of ink used, in particular cases the films might become softer. To ensure still an easy and certain bonding, we recommend to use an application tape; as well as when applying large format motives.
  • Sending and storage After plotting the films should be stored and dispatched laying flat.
