Canon Expands the imagePROGRAF TM Printer Range with the TM-250

Canon has introduced the TM-250 to the UK, expanding the popular Canon imagePROGRAF TM printer range. This series of professional wide-format inkjet printers is designed for AEC, design studios, educational institutions, and businesses that need high-quality, reliable printing for CAD, technical drawings, renders, and posters.

The TM series now offers six printers: three 24-inch A1 models and three 36-inch A0 models, all of which can be extended with scanners to create multifunction devices capable of copying and scanning directly to file.

What is the Canon TM Printer Range?

The Canon TM printer range includes:

  • 24-inch A1 printers: TM-240, TM-250, TM-255
  • 36-inch A0 printers: TM-340, TM-350, TM-355

All TM series printers are compatible with a wide range of Canon and third-party media, making it easy to print fade-resistant, water-resistant, and scratch-resistant graphics for both indoor and mid-term outdoor applications.

Which TM Printer is Right for Me?

Choosing the right Canon TM printer depends on your output needs:

  • A0 / A1 printing: TM-340, TM-350, TM-355
  • A1 / A2 printing: TM-240, TM-250, TM-255

The TM-250 is the latest addition for A1 printing, offering improved running costs and versatility, while the TM-350 remains Canon’s most popular A0 printer, ideal for larger-format CAD plots, posters, and graphics.

Key Differences Between TM Printers

Entry-Level: TM-240 & TM-340

  • Smaller 55ml ink tanks mean higher cost per page
  • Low upfront cost makes them ideal for infrequent users or those starting with A1 or A0 printing
  • Compatible with all TM media
  • 3-inch core adapters not included (available separately)

Mid-Range: TM-250 & TM-350

  • Larger 130ml and 300ml ink cartridges reduce running costs
  • Ships with 480ml ink included, reducing upfront investment
  • The TM-250, new to the UK in February 2026, is perfect for businesses needing high-quality A1 printing
  • The TM-350 continues to be Canon’s best-selling A0 printer
  • Both are versatile, reliable, and suitable for a wide range of professional applications

What Can You Print with the TM Series?

All Canon TM printers use aqueous pigment inks, delivering:

  • Fade-resistant, water-resistant prints
  • High scratch resistance
  • Capability for mid-term outdoor graphics without UV gel, Latex, or Eco-solvent systems

Typical Applications Include:

  • CAD and technical drawings
  • Architectural, petrochemical, and engineering renders
  • Full-colour graphics for presentations, POS displays, and exhibitions
  • Spreadsheets, schematics, maps, and charts

Media Options for TM Printers

The Canon TM series supports a broad range of media:

  • CAD plotting paper and drafting film
  • Matte-coated paper for full-colour renders
  • Photo satin and gloss papers
  • Specialty photo media: Pearl, Metallic, Lustre
  • Self-adhesive vinyl
  • Polypropylene films and banners
  • Backlit and clear films
  • Wallpaper: low-tack, adhesive-free textile

This makes the TM printers ideal for businesses needing versatile printing capabilities, from technical CAD plots to high-quality graphics.

Other options

Alongside Canon’s highly successful imagePROGRAF TM Series, the TC-21 A1 / A2 desktop plotter is also available, featuring eco-friendly, refillable ink bottles and a compact footprint. Designed for lighter-use environments, it provides an affordable entry point for CAD, technical drawing, and poster printing, while the Canon TM-250 continues to deliver the best TCO and value per page among Canon’s entry-level A1 large format printers.

Further extending the Canon imagePROGRAF range, the TX-3200 and TX-4200 large format plotters in 36-inch (A0) and 44-inch (A0+) formats are true workhorse printers, built for busy production environments with a lower cost per plot and fast, reliable CAD drawing output.

At the top of the range, Canon’s flagship imagePROGRAF TZ-32000 is a high-speed production printer, purpose-built for high-volume print environments where maximum productivity, reliability, and professional-grade output are essential.
