Epson SureColor SC-P700 vs SC-P900: Which One Should You Choose?

Both printers share the same UltraChrome® Pro10 pigment ink technology, exceptional colour accuracy and professional-grade output. The key physical differences come down to size, productivity and maximum print width., when it comes to running cost the SC-P900 will always be a lower cost per page.

Print Size & Media Handling

SC-P700: A3+ (13″) maximum print width: ideal for desktop studios and smaller workspaces.

SC-P900: A2+ (17″) maximum print width: perfect for larger fine art, exhibition prints and expanded commercial work. Great for Camera club collectives

Both support roll media (with optional adapters), but the SC-P900’s wider format offers greater versatility for panoramas and gallery prints, ideal if you intend on selling your work as often buyers need bigger prints.

Who Should Choose Which?

Our opening paragraph references running cost, a frequent conversation we have with customers. Typically the bigger the printer combined with the upfront purchase cost ink lower per ML, reducing the cost per page. In this instance the SC-P7 uses 25ml ink, the SC-P9, 50ml, giving you lower running cost and also more ink upfront, narrowing the difference in initial purchase price.

Choose the SC-P700 if you want professional A3+ output, lower upfront cost if you’re restricted by budget and space, the smaller footprint is then attractive.

Choose the SC-P900 if you regularly produce A2+ fine art, exhibition prints, or want maximum flexibility for selling large-format work. With a wider range of materials available (many more 17″ roll choices) you also have more flexibility.
