Epson SureColor SC-P6500DE 24″ Dual Roll Printer (C11CH80302A1)
The Epson SureColor SC-P6500DE is a compact, dual-roll, 24-inch A1 large format printer designed for professional environments that demand reliability, precision, and high productivity.
Whether you’re producing photographic work, colour rich GIS charts, or graphics, this printer delivers outstanding image quality, speed and versatility — all from one of the smallest footprints in its class.
Fast, Flexible, Dual Roll Productivity
The SC-P6500DE features two active media rolls, allowing users to load different paper types or sizes simultaneously, or run longer jobs uninterrupted by automatically switching rolls. It’s ideal for busy photo and design studios, print service providers, and copy shops who need to switch quickly between medias.
This flexible workflow is supported by Epson’s advanced PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead, producing ultra-sharp lines and dense fills even on large, detailed drawings. High-capacity ink cartridges — up to 700ml — deliver outstanding value per millilitre and reduce downtime from cartridge changes.
Professional Pigment Ink System with Grey Ink
Featuring Epson’s 6-colour UltraChrome XD3 pigment ink set (Black, Matte Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Grey).
Unlike standard 8-colour systems, the SC-P6500D achieves similar outstanding results with only 6 colours.
- Grey ink ensures smooth gradations and reduced graininess.
- Photo and Matte Black guarantee sharp contrast on any media.
- The reduced ink set keeps operating costs lower while delivering professional-grade output.
Grey ink technology produces results comparable to 8-colour systems, but with greater efficiency and at reduced costs.
This printer suitable for Photo and Fine art (lower gamut, than 8-12 ink sets) posters, graphics, and retail displays. Making it a great all rounder for PSP environments, education and large corporates. Additionally, although the alternative SC-T3700DE is marketed for the construction space, we prefer this variant as it’s grey ink is greta for AEC CAD prints.
This pigment-based system is fully water and smudge resistant, providing long-lasting output suitable for both indoor and temporary outdoor use with light fast ink.
Secure and Intelligent Operation
The SC-P6500DE is built for today’s connected workplace, featuring over 28 advanced security functions, including SSL/TLS, IPSec, and secure user authentication. Optional features like the encrypted 960GB SSD enable safe, local file storage, and seamless integration into corporate IT environments.
With remote monitoring via Epson Cloud Solution PORT, IT teams and operators can track printer status, ink levels, and maintenance alerts in real time — ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
Designed for Modern Workspaces
Epson has completely re-engineered this printer line to deliver performance in a space-saving, contemporary chassis. Flat back and sides allow it to sit flush against walls or cabinets, making it ideal for tight office spaces. Its clean, minimal design fits perfectly in studios, retail environments, and corporate offices.
Plot it take: SC-T6500DE vs SC-T6500D
The team here at Plot it rate the SC-T6500DE highly for its dual roll flexibility, large ink options, and exceptional print quality. It’s a fast, robust, and great solution for anyone needing continuous or mixed-media workflows — whether you’re alternating between photo paper, production grade canvas, matte coated media, or simply plain plotter paper, or simply want to maximise productivity with fewer roll changes.
However, for users printing complex files directly from Adobe applications or large graphic documents with transparency layers, we prefer the SC-T6500D model. On the other hand, if you are running a third-party RIP workflow then it maybe possible to forgo the PS option.
The alternative “D” variant includes embedded Adobe PostScript 3, which processes vector-heavy or complex colour files much faster and more accurately than the DE model. PostScript support also ensures superior compatibility with Mac environments, architectural design software, and third-party RIP workflows.
Summary
Offers a balanced combination of productivity, print precision, and compact design. The dual-roll configuration provides great flexibility, allowing automatic switching between production canvas, photo and poster media, or between different sizes for fast-paced production. The grey ink delivers remarkable tonal control — ideal for fine art, photography, and proofing — while producing 8-colour quality from just six inks, reducing total cost of ownership. It’s the perfect fit for commercial print shops, universities, and creative studios that demand versatility without compromise.
