What is Epson CoverPlus (Extended Warranty)?

Epson CoverPlus is Epson’s branded extended-warranty and service program that extends parts, labour and service beyond the standard factory warranty for SureColor large format printers.

Unlike other manufacturers warranties the CoverPlus extension also includes print heads – this is subject to terms and conditions. Plot it are able to advise on any specific printer, do contact our customer sales team.

How Epson typically treats printheads under CoverPlus

Printhead coverage under Epson extended plans is model- and plan-specific. Check with Plot it for your specific model.
Included (with limits) — Some CoverPlus / On-Site packs for large-format printers explicitly include printhead replacement as part of the service, sometimes with a specified allowance (for example: a set number of printhead replacements per year).

Exclusions & Conditions That Can Void Coverage

Epson CoverPlus plans usually contain standard exclusions — if these apply, a printhead or service claim may be refused:

Use of non-genuine ink, consumables or third-party parts. Using third-party inks/parts is a common reason claims are declined.
Repairs by unauthorised technicians or modifications not approved by Epson.
Failure to follow required maintenance (e.g., recommended head cleanings, firmware updates, environment controls).
Physical damage, misuse, or media/installation errors (media jams caused by incorrect media, damage during transport, etc.) If you require a relocation then we suggest for all brands that you contact Plot it for charges for a full move or for technician to attend site, we only offer this service for products purchased from us.

Q — Are printheads always covered under CoverPlus?
A — No. Coverage differs by plan and model. Some CoverPlus on-site packs include printheads (sometimes with limits), some provide printhead self-service options, and some commercial plans explicitly exclude printheads. Always check the plan PDF or product SKU.

Q — How many printhead replacements are allowed?
A — 1 printhead set per year” for specific CoverPlus packs; others offer more flexible allowances or none at all. Ask for specific plan information.

Q — Will Epson replace printheads caused by clogging?
A — If clogging results from a defect and the plan covers printheads, Epson may replace them. But if clogging resulted from improper maintenance or use of non-genuine inks, a claim may be declined. Follow the maintenance guidance in the user manual to preserve coverage.

Q — Can I transfer CoverPlus if I sell the printer?
A — Many CoverPlus contracts are transferable to a new owner subject to registration and regional rules; verify transferability in your plan or with Plot it.

Q — Am I still covered if I relocate the printer?

A — We recommend you use our inhouse service team for movals, in the event of damage caused by inappropriate relocation methods then the plan will be nullified.
